Cesantes beach is a sandbank more than two kilometers long located in a wonderful natural environment, in the middle of Ensenada de San Simón. From the Cesantes beach we can see the Island of San Simón with the Rande Bridge in the background. A spectacular landscape of the Ría de Vigo, in a privileged space of the Rías Baixas.

On the beach there is a statue in homage to Jules Verne, which represents Captain Nemo and the divers from the novel Twenty Thousand Leagues Under the Sea. The book recounts how Captain Nemo, in the Ensenada de San Simón, loads with a loot of gold bars, coins and jewels, coming from Spanish ships sunk in the Battle of Rande.
